DOVER - Charles "Terry" Jackson passed away Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019, at Kent General Hospital.
Mr. Jackson was born Jan. 10, 1940, in Dover to the late James Bice Jackson and Doris Clark Jackson. From 1964 to 1965 he was a ranch hand in British Columbia. He received his Associates Degree in Architecture from North Carolina State and his Bachelor's Degree from University of North Carolina. After graduating he worked for Olsen Architects in Raleigh until moving back to Dover in 1980.
He owned his own architecture business Jackson Architecture on S. State Street in Dover from 1983 until his retirement in 2009. Mr. Jackson enjoyed working, and being on the family farm, and spending summers in Maine. Mr. Jackson was a member of the Biggs Museum and held a chair for 17 years. He was also a member of the Dover Housing Authority, Dover Historic Commission, and Friends of Old Dover, Kent County Board of Appeals, Board of Architecture, and Society of Colonial Wars in the State of Delaware, and worked on the renovation of the Schwartz Theatre.
Mr. Jackson is survived by his wife of 51 years, Theodora Hughes Jackson of Dover; sons, Charles Terry Jackson "Pat" of Dover and William Randolph Jackson of Wilmington, N.C.; brother, Thomas Jackson and his wife Martha Anne of Dover; grandchildren, Ruby and Jonah Jackson.
Services will be held 11:30 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019, at Christ Episcopal Church, 523 S. State Street, Dover, DE 19901.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to the Biggs Museum, 406 Federal Street, Dover, DE 19901.
