LAUREL - Donald L. Mitchell passed away on Aug. 8, 2016. He was born Dec. 29, 1947, son of the late Harry J. and Florence P. Mitchell, of Laurel. He was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Hill. Magilla was the first Coordinator of ABATE OF DELAWARE-SUSSEX CO CHAPTER and was instrumental in the Toys For Tots motorcycle run for many years. He enjoyed traveling with his friends to Daytona Bike Week. He will be remembered best for the annual Pig Roast at Phillips Landing which was attended by bikers from Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Magilla loved motorcycles, especially trikes and was a die-hard David Alan Coe fan. Most recently, a dream came true when he welcomed his only granddaughter, Giavanna Cherylene. Donald is survived by a daughter, whom he loved dearly, Roberta Jo-D Hall, husband JC Hall, III, and granddaughter, Giavanna, of Felton; step-children, Shane Larimore, of Greenwood, Susan Larimore, of Texas, and Cheyenne Algier, of Bridgeville, whom he loved as his own and 12 step-grandchildren. A Memorial get together will be on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Cherry Beach, Sharptown, Md. Dress is casual, motorcycles welcome. In lieu of flowers, donations in Magilla's honor can be made to a scholarship fund for Giavanna Hall, C/O Roberta Hall, 131 Vineyard Lane, Felton, DE 19943.

My prayers are with his family, this was truly an amazing man. It comforts me to know he is now at peace and sharing a laugh with my mom and dad. It seems sad that all the great ppl of my childhood hood are leaving us but they have left big shoes to fill. Rest in peace old man I will forever miss your kind smile and comforting hugs everytime I saw you.
