Fayma Dickey, 94, a resident of Valley Springs, passed away Saturday, March 6, 2021, at Hillcrest Home in Harrison.
She was born September 18, 1926, at Mount Judea to William Frank and Mary Hazel Greenhaw Cheatham. She was a graduate of Arkansas Tech University and was an educator for 43 years, teaching at Mt. Sherman, Mount Judea, Lead Hill, and the longest at Valley Springs. She was a member of the Bellefonte Church of Christ and Delta Kappa Gamma. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, cooking, crocheting, knitting and gardening. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, J. B. Dickey; two brothers, Armon and William Cheatham; and a sister, Lois Cheatham.
Survivors include two sons, James Dickey of Valley Springs and Randall Dickey of Auburn, Alabama; four grandchildren, Lauren Elsener and her husband, Kurt, of Bixby, Oklahoma, Jared Dickey, and his fiancé, Addie Newman, of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Emily Grace Dickey of Auburn, and Jackson Lee Dickey of Auburn; two great-grandsons, Kolton and Brooks Elsener, both of Bixby; three nieces, Barbara Hefley, Tena Bryant and Sarah Flud and her husband, Robby, all of Mount Judea; nephew, Billy Cheatham of Mount Judea; five great-nephews; two great-nieces; and other relatives and friends.
