Looking for someone from Kingsman Band or family of Mike Mike Mitchell that I could speak with about a friend who may have been friends with them. His name was Wayne Buddy Davis, who lived in Portland until 2014, then Buddy moved to TN. Very important to speak to someone that may have known Buddy.

First met Mike on schoolgrounds when we were both in 5th grade. Great guy! Always fun to be around, even though we weren't close. In high school he and some other talented school musicians formed The Kingsmen and the rest is history. I always enjoyed their classic tunes on my iPod, especially after going to concerts where they played 'em live. Awfully sorry to see that Mike checked out early. With his friendly demeanor and musicianship, he helped make the world a better place. RIP good friend!

"Louie, Louie" was a staple party song for my friends and me back in the '60s. it is still played as a musical interlude during stoppages of play at hockey games in this area and even the young people know it and love it, 60 years later! Thanks, Mike Mitchell - RIP.

What a great guy......We lost one of the best. So so humble. i knew him for years chatting with him at Cascade Cigar shop. One night several years ago it was just Mike and myself watching the NBA all star game and the national anthem was played he looked over and me and grinned and said we would never had played it that way! that's when I learned about his background and was instantly fascinated by his stories on the road; getting stuck in snow storms, traveling with the beach boys.....It went on and on, I became worried about that I was driving him crazy but NO WAY! he enjoyed sharing his life with me. I am sure he would not have changed anything had he had to do it all over again.
On his 76th birthday celebration in a crowded room (of course) He said "look around this is my family" he was so moved by the attention. Mike undoubtedly will be long be remembered.

Heaven now gets to hear Louie Louie whenever it wants!.... God bless Mike!

The iconic success of "Louie, Louie" must have been both a source of pride and amusement to Mike and his fellow Kingsmen.

Those of us old enough to remember have our fond memories the song and its performers and hope that is of some small comfort now, all these decades later, to Mike's family and friends.
