Zella Island Tennyson Montgomery, 97, a resident of Harrison, passed from this life on Monday, April 5, 2021, at Hillcrest Home to join her eternal family in her Heavenly home.
She was born into the family of Tom and Nellie Holt Greenhaw on May 19, 1923, on Big Creek at Mt. Judea. She was one of 8 children. She married Wilbert Tennyson and had many happy years before his death. She later met and married Ken Montgomery and spent good years with him. Pink was Zella's favorite color. She made all her beautiful clothes as well as quilts and gorgeous handiwork. Zella dearly loved her family and most enjoyed getting together with them. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; three brothers, Velta, Aaron and Floy; and four sisters, Erma Ruby, Adath and Jewell.
She is survived and loved by many nieces and nephews, including Thomas Bonner of Mt. Judea who was raised as her brother; and her Northside Church of Christ family.
