Guilmette, Paul M. Paul M. Guilmette, age 88, of Milford, and beloved husband of Doris Osgood Guilmette, passed away peacefully at his residence, Carriage Green of Milford, on February 23, 2013, with his family by his side. Born on April 28, 1924 in Woodsville, NH, he was one of five sons of Almedas and Martha (Mulliken) Guilmette. Paul was an avid golfer and was a former member of the Knights of Columbus and the Elk's Lodge in Claremont, NH and the VFW in Stratford, CT. He served during WWII in the US Army Air Force, as a member of the 10th Air Force, 493rd Heavy Bombardment Squadron in India. He held the rank of Staff/Sergeant and was an Aircraft Mechanic. After the war he became a 2nd LT in the National Guard in New Hampshire. He moved to Claremont, NH, as a young man, where he met his future wife Doris Osgood and they were married on June 29, 1946. They lived there for 7 years and then moved to Milford and lived here for 33 years. He worked at Allison Abrasives in Shelton. Upon his retirement they moved to Holiday Shores in Largo, FL, for 22 years and then at the Barrington Senior Living for 4 years. In 2012, they returned to Milford. Paul will be greatly missed by his family. In addition to his wife, Doris of 66 years, he is survived by his son, Gary Guilmette and wife Frances of East Haven; his daughter, Carol Stafford and husband Paul of Milford; his former daughter-in-law Muriel Guilmette of Milford; grandchildren: Bridget Krauss (Karl) and Gary Guilmette, Jr. (Danielle) of Milford, Tracy Frank (Kruger) of Dixon, CA, Kyle Stafford and Megan Stafford of Milford. Also his great grandchildren Emily, Madison, Nathan, Mackenzie, Juliet, Carter of Milford. Maya and Phineas of Dixon, CA. Two Brothers Alan Guilmette (Irene) of Milford and Karl Guilmette (Mary) of Largo, FL; two sisters-in- law, Norma Osgood of Sugar Hill, NH and Joanne Guilmette of Largo, FL. and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by two brothers, Roger Guilmette and Carroll Guilmette. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 28th at 10:30 am at St. Mary's Church, 70 Gulf St., Milford, CT. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at Mountain View Cemetery in Claremont, NH. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, February 27th from 4 to 8 pm at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT 06460. In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations be made to: Vitas Hospice Care, 99 Hawley Ave., Suite 1204, Stratford, CT 06614.
