AMARANTE, PHILIP Philip Amarante of Seneca Rd, New Haven passed away September 10, 2013 in Connecticut Hospice. He was the husband of the late Alice DeAngelo Amarante. Philip was born in New Haven February 15, 1920 son of the late Alphonse and Mary Spadola Amarante and was a retired truck driver for Adley Express and a member of Teamsters Local 443. He served his country with honor in the Army during WWII, and was awarded the purple heart. He will be deeply missed by his daughter Joan (Michael) Franco and son Philip (Suzy) Amarante. Brother of Anna Ives and the late Theresa Grasso and Anthony Amarante. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. His funeral will leave from the IOVANNE FUNERAL HOME INC., 11 Wooster Place, Saturday morning at 9. Mass of Christian burial in St. Joseph Church at 9:30. Burial with military honors in St. Lawrence Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Saturday from 8-9am.
