Cameron Brown

BROWN, CAMERON Cameron Brown, Pine Tree Dr., and Pot Rock Island, Branford passed away on his 99th birthday, November 25, 2013. He was the husband for 57 years of the late Katrina U. Brown, his childhood sweetheart who also died on November 25, fourteen years earlier. He was born in Jamestown, NY, the son of Cameron Brown and Frances Warant and grew up in Pittsburgh, PA. He attended Penn State. During WWII he served in the US Army as an Anti-Aircraft Artillery instructor and was part of the Okinawa occupying force. He retired from the Army Corps of Engineers Reserves as a Major. He held a long banking career having retired from Second New Haven National Bank as its Senior Vice President. In retirement he traveled extensively including a full circle around the world journey. He rooted for the Yankees, the Nittny Lions and the UConn Women Basketball Huskies. He is survived by his sister Shirley Bothwell of Miami, FL, sons Cameron Brown Jr. (Jay) and his wife Lori of Middlefield and Peter Brown and his wife Susan of Branford and six grandchildren Duncan, and his wife Marissa , Tristan, Cameron and Lillian Brown and John and Kate Swick. He was predeceased by his brothers Bernard, Vernon, Wallace, Herbert and sisters Marguerite Lyttle and Barbara Bryan.
