Marcia Richardson of North Branford died peacefully in her home on Saturday, May 29, 2021. She was the wife of the late Arthur James Richardson. She was the mother of Anne Richardson of North Branford, Sally Wilks (Jeffrey) of Old Saybrook and Jay (Loretta) Richardson of West Haven. She was the sister of Carol Frederickson of Glastonbury, CT. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Lisa Richardson, James Richardson, Julia Idarola and Ashley Wilks. Marcia was born in Gloucester, MA on May 16, 1928, a daughter of Charles and Amelia Clark.
Marcia attended Larson Junior College and she met Arti at White Castle. Shortly after the war ended, they married and moved to North Branford. Marcia was very involved in the League of Women Voters and was a member of the Grange. She was a reporter for the New Haven Register. Marcia was in walking clubs and instant theatre. She graduated from Yale University with a Masters in EPH. Marcia was an avid reader and a lifelong Red Sox fan. She was a wonderfully happy woman and is loved by many.
In lieu of flowers, people may donate to Masonic Hospice or North Branford Food Bank.
Friends may call Friday from 5-7 p.m. for a memorial visitation at the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford. Please see her online memorial at www.wsclancy.com.

I only met her long ago. I immediately admired her. Her smile was so warm, her quest for knowledge apparent. My heart goes out to her children and all her family and friends.

My thoughts and prayers are with Marcia’s family. She was a beautiful soul and when she smiled it lit up the room. I have so many memories of Marcia and her visits to our home. May she Rest In Peace.
