Shugrue, Ann M.
Ann M. Shugrue, an 86 year old Oxford resident, entered into eternal rest on June 2 at The Water Mark at East Hill in Southbury. She was born on November 19, 1931, daughter of the late James and Georgia Shugrue. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from U. of St. Joseph's and a Master's degree in Chemistry from Wesleyan University. She taught Earth Science for Derby High School for many years and was a parishioner of The Church of the Good Shepherd in Seymour. She leaves her beloved goddaughter Suzie Stevenson of Seymour as well as two nephews and a niece. She was predeceased by her brother Martin Shugrue and dear friend Catherine King. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. with friends asked to go directly to The Church of the Good Shepherd in Seymour. Burial will follow in her family plot in Old St. Andrew's Cemetery in Colchester. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to The CT Humane Society, 169 Old Colchester Rd. Quaker Hill, CT 06375. Following her wishes, there are no calling hours. The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia has been entrusted with arrangements.
