Gordon, Arden
Arden Clark Gordon of Woodbridge CT, Wellfleet MA and Stowe VT passed away on December 18, 2017. She was born on December 21, 1930 in New Haven, CT to the late Theodore Robert Clark and Evelyn Schepmoes Clark. She is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, the late Dr. Robert Stanton Gordon. Arden graduated from Skidmore College in 1952 with a degree in Home Economics. She and her husband raised six children in Woodbridge, CT as the fifth generation on the Clark homestead. Arden was a past President of the Woodbridge Garden Club, a member of the Republican Town Committee, Woodbridge Recreation Commission and the Ladies Auxiliary at the First Church of Christ, Woodbridge. Arden was truly one of a kind, outspoken and inquisitive and especially passionate about those she loved: her husband Bob, her children, sons and daughter- in- laws, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She always sacrificed herself to enable her family to pursue their interests. She loved the town of Woodbridge and her family's history there, and all the many friends she made along her way. Arden LOVED to talk and ask endless questions and she read the New Haven Register and the New York Times cover to cover for years. Arden is survived by her sister, Virginia Link (Duke) of Basking Ridge, NJ, six children: Dr.Kimberly Gordon Tucker (Jim) of Pittsburgh, PA, Dr. Laurie Gordon Mckennan of New Canaan, CT, Wendy Gordon Carey (Chase) of Darien, CT, Robin Gordon Schaffer (Tony) of Woodbridge, CT, Dr. Paul Gordon (Susan Duffy) of Barrington, RI and Dr. Stuart Gordon (Leane) of Norwich, VT, grandchildren: Peter (Micaela) Tucker, Brad (Meryl) Tucker, Scott (Jane) Tucker, Chris (Katherine) Mckennan, Olivia Mckennan, Alexander Mckennan, Molly McKennan, Steven Carey, Tara Carey, Henry Schaffer, Katharine Schaffer, Theodore Schaffer, Bryan Schaffer, Matthew (Janny) Gordon, Caroline Gordon, Owen Gordon, Catherine Gordon, Connor Gordon and great grandchildren: James Kane Tucker, Rory Tucker, Miles Tucker, Luke Tucker and Cole Tucker. For the last four years Arden resided at Evergreen Woods in North Branford, CT.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 27, 11 a.m. at The First Church of Christ,
