Dominic Serio Obituary
Dominic Serio, Sr., 95, of Branford, formerly of East Haven, passed away peacefully at Branford Hills Convalescent Home. For the past 71 years, he has been the husband of Rose DePino Serio. Dominic was born in Orange, CT on May 23, 1924. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII in the European and American Theaters. Dominic worked in the newspaper industry for many years, including his last 30 for the New Haven Register as a Foreman, until finally retiring in 1983. He was a member of the East Haven Auxiliary Police, as well as the Westport Elks Club. Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons and their wives, Dominic (Susan) Serio, Jr. of Fort Meyers, FL, Andrew (Terri) Serio of East Haven and Anthony (Sally) Serio of New York, NY, four granddaughters, Nicole Merritt, Danielle Serio, Christen Kindle and Anna Serio, as well as four great-grandchildren, Aaron, Jr., Andrew, Alessandra and Gabriele. He was predeceased by his mother, Marion Landino Cuomo, a grandson, Michael Serio, three brothers, Anthony, Frank and Armand Serio, and a sister, Vera DeMusis.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday morning, November 22, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the East Haven Memorial Longobardi – Brennan Funeral Home, 425 Main St., East Haven, 203-668-6022. Burial of ashes with full military honors will take place at East Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 to 11 prior to the services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601. Please visit easthavenmemorial.com and sign Dominic's guest book.
