O'Brien, Edward
Edward G. O'Brien, 93, of Kensington, husband of the late Lillian M. (Pac) O'Brien, died on Thursday at his residence surrounded by his family. Born on July 29, 1924 in New Britain, son of the late Edward and Mary (Roman) O'Brien. Edward had been retired from the Fafnir Bearing Co. where he worked for 40 years. He was a member of St. Paul's Church, Kensington, for 57 years and was a WW II veteran in the U.S. Army serving with Company C 38th Armored Infantry Battalion, 7th Armored Division in E.T.O., where he also received the Good Conduct Medal, the Purple Heart, the Victory Medal and European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon. He was predeceased by his brother Francis O'Brien. Edward is survived by his loving family, three children, Michael and daughter-in-law Judy O'Brien of Bristol, Thomas and daughter-in-law Madelyn O'Brien of Canada and Maureen and son-in-law Jim Branciforte of Cheshire, as well as three grandchildren, Chaela Branciforte and Joseph and Crystal O'Brien.
A memorial Mass will be held on Saturday (November 11, 2017) at 10 a.m. in St. Paul's Church, Kensington. Burial with full military honors will be in the family plot in St. Mary's Cemetery, New Britain. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the , P.O. Box 188, North Haven, CT 06473. Berlin Memorial Funeral Home, 96 Main St., Kensington, is in charge of arrangements.
