Elaine Kennedy, 88, of Wallingford, CT, formerly of Orange, CT, died peacefully in her sleep on Dec. 1, 2017 at Masonicare Hospice, in Wallingford. Born on Dec. 1, 1929 in New Haven, CT, she is predeceased by her parents Alfred and Susan Persico Lenzi and her late husband of 60 years ,Hugh A. Kennedy, Jr. Elaine went to high school at St. Mary's in New Haven, CT and graduated in 1947. She went on to earn an Associate's Degree in Science from Larson (Quinnipiac) College in Hamden, CT in 1949. Elaine held various secretarial positions throughout her life, but her greatest joy in life was always as a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She was an avid tennis and golf enthusiast who enjoyed spending winters with her husband at their home in Fort Myers, Florida. Survivors include her two sons , Dr. Hugh A. (Amy) Kennedy, III of Bloomfield, CT, Greg Kennedy of Orange, CT; two daughters Patrice (Lou) Errico of North Haven, CT and Carol (Roger) Lange of Wallingford, CT; seven grandchildren, Kristin, Meaghan and Brittany Kennedy, Carolyn Longyear, Christine Warner, Jennifer and Justin Lange; and great grandson, Connor Longyear. She is also survived by her brother Archie (Elaine) Lenzi of Arizona. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Masonicare at Home for their loving care of their mom and to Masonicare Hospice for their comfort and support in her final days.
Family and friends may call Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at MARESCA & SONS FUNERAL HOME 592 Chapel St. New Haven and are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. in Holy Infant Church 450 Racebrook Rd., Orange.
