I went to Grammar School and High School with Kate. She was Kathy Paranto then. She was fun and talented as an artist. She helped me with many art projects in school. We always loved to chat and giggle. I remember her with her long ponytail that she wore for years. Every so often our paths would cross again and we with catch up. She had 2 sisters Cherie and Lisa who she spoke of often. Rest in Paradise, Kate.

My sympathies to Kate's family and close friends. Kate was a passionate and knowledgeable collaborator with my art collective (a handful of graduate students at the time) on a project that focused on domestic violence, around the time of the OJ Simpson trial when the issue was being taken more seriously by society and the police who often respond first to the scene. We couldn't have done our work without her insights, encouragement and instincts. She was a positive force in this world -- a champion for women in need. Rest in eternal peace Kate!

Kathy was in my homroom at St Mary's Highschool, and a great friend. To know her was to love her. She was a wonderful artist. My prayers and condolences go out to the family and I'll remember Kathy always.

Kate was a true artist, a true friend and a true sweetheart, with love, understanding and time for everyone. Her sad passing leaves our world less warm, less kind and less colorful. May she Rest In Peace.
