Lucy Ann Tondalo Kaluski, 72, of North Branford died peacefully at her home on January 4, 2018 with her loving family by her side. She leaves behind her husband, Joseph "Jay" Kaluski Sr. her daughter Michele (Dave) Teodoro of North Branford, her son Joseph (Rebecca) Kaluski Jr. of Westbrook and her four precious granddaughters Amanda, Alexa, Ava & Brooke. Lucy was predeceased by her father Custode "Gus" Tondalo and her mother Margaret (Manceri) Tondalo. Lucy was born in New Haven on August 30,1945. She was a graduate of Wilbur Cross High School and Quinnipiac College where she received her bachelors degree in business. She went on to become a legal secretary at Empire Insurance in New Haven. After that she became a stay at home Mom and in 1989 she and her husband opened up Jay & Lucy's Family Deli. Lucy had a love for serving food to her dedicated customers for 28 years. Her favorite pastimes were going to "any" casino and traveling to Aruba yearly with her family and friends. She was also an avid New York Yankee fan.
Her funeral procession will leave the PORTO FUNERAL HOME 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte. 80) East Haven WEDNESDAY morning at 9:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Augustine Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Friends may call TUESDAY from 4p.m. to 8p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Community Healthcare & Hospice 753 Boston Post Rd. Suite 200 Guilford,CT. 06437.
