Orser, Margaret A.
Margaret Anne Nason Orser, 79 of Hamden died peacefully on Monday, June 11, 2018 at Connecticut Hospice, Branford with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of 59 years to Dean A. Orser. Margaret was born in Woodstock, New Brunswick, Canada on January 19, 1939, a daughter of the late Kenneth and Gladys Williams Nason and had resided in Hamden for the past 56 years. She was a cafeteria aid at Hamden High School for more than 30 years, retiring in 2016, and spent nearly half of the year at her Monticello, ME home. Margaret is also survived by one daughter, Heather (Scott) McDonald; two sons, Rick (Lynn) Orser and Austin (Lori) Orser, all of Hamden; six grandchildren, Jonathan (Sarah) Orser, Blake, Emily, Jessica and Marissa Orser and Nina McDonald and one great-granddaughter, Lillian Orser. She is also survived by three sisters in Canada and was predeceased by four sisters and one brother.
Margaret's family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Thursday at 11:00 a.m, the Rev. Scott Morrow officiating. Burial will follow in Beaverdale Memorial Park, New Haven.
