NICHOLAS AIELLO Obituary
AIELLO, NICHOLAS Nicholas Aiello, of Cheshire, formerly of New Haven passed away November 5, 2015 in Cheshire Regional Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of the late Anna Marie DeCato Aiello. Nick was born in New Haven December 14, 1924 son of the late Ralph and Natalina Parlato Aiello and was a proud US Navy veteran serving during WWII. He was an organizer and business agent for the Amalgamated Clothing Workers Union and later worked for the Greater New Haven Labor Council. Nick was very involved in politics, he served as a member of the New Haven Board of Aldermen and as a Commissioner for the New Haven Housing Authority. He was a devoted fan of the NY Yankees and UCONN Huskies. He is the father of Michael (Lisa) Aiello. Brother of Louise Fortin, and the late Natalie Adamczyk, Jenny Alfano, Rose Nuzzo, Lucy Fernandez, Mary Vopicella, and Suzanne, James, Joseph, Howard, Frank, Natale, Ralph, and Peter Aiello. Funeral from the IOVANNE FUNERAL HOME INC. 11 Wooster Place Tuesday morning at 9:30. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael’s Church at 10. Burial with military honors in All Saints Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Monday from 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Greater New Haven Labor History Association 267 Chapel St. New Haven, CT 06513.
