SCHWEISS, ROBERT A. SR. Robert A. Schweiss, Sr. of North Haven, CT. formerly of Sharpsville, PA., passed away at age 82 on June 8th, 2011 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford CT. Bob is survived by his wife, Joyce, son Robert, Jr. and wife Cindy. Also by the children of his second family, Lynn Cersosimo of Rhode Island, Paul Renkewitz, Jr. of Meriden CT and Julie (Don) Vitagliano of Orange, CT, siblings, "Toots" Hutchinson of Orangeville OH, "Peggy" Brisco of Hermitage, PA., Jack Schweiss of Hermitage PA., and Ed Schweiss of Sharpsville, PA. Grandchildren Robert Schweiss, III, (Mindi), Jonette (Aaron) Essig and great grandchildren Robert Schweiss IV, Bristal Schweiss, Scott and Stephen Cersosimo, Adrianna and Samantha Renkewitz, Michael and Matthew Vitagliano, several nieces and nephews. Along with his brother Rich and nephew Dan Schweiss, Bob ran Masury Collision in Ohio for a number of years prior to his relocation to the east coast. Bob had been an auto damage appraiser for Hanover Insurance prior to his retirement in 1996. His years of experience in auto body repair made him a challenging adversary when visiting local area body shops. During his retirement, Bob was active in working for Habitat for Humanity and enjoyed maintaining his yard and flower gardens. His many trips to the Cape for surf fishing and spending time with his family were treasured times. He was a life time member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and American Legion. Bob was an Army veteran and proud American who took pride in the flag that has and continues to fly in his front yard. Bob is predeceased by brothers Martin (Whitey), Richard (Rich) Schweiss; sister Florence Long. Funeral services will be conducted in the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue Saturday morning at 11:30. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 10:30 to 11:30.
