It was with deep sadness that I learned of the passing of Dr. Emanuel T. Prostano--Dean of the School of Library Science & Instructional Technology at Southern Connecticut State University. It was his leadership that brought the School American Library Association accreditation--an accreditation maintained for many years long after his retirement. Having studied for and gain an M.L.S. from Southern during the period 1974-76, I am among the multitude of people owing their library careers to that leadership. He was a highly distinguished educator and a fine man.
