Julian Spector, 90, of Woodbridge, beloved husband of the late Frances Spector, died after a brief stay at Yale New Haven Hospital on Monday, May 8th, 2017. He was a long time resident of Woodbridge, residing at Brookdale (Emeritus) for the last five years. He was born in New York City on December 7, 1926, the son of the late Hyman and Ida ( Kelman) Spector. Loving mother of Barbara (Hill) Fitzgerel of Annandale, VA. , and Russell (Deborra) Spector of Madison, Ct. Dear brother of Selma (Rick) Rechtschaffner, of Somers, NY. Cherished grandfather of Joshua (Elizabeth) Spector, Leah (Devin) Yazmer, Seth Spector, Harris Fitzgerel and Noah Fitzgerel. Beloved great grandfather of Hayden Yazmer, Mitchell Yazmer and Jonathan Spector. A graduate of Cooper Union, he was an Electrical Engineer. Together with a group of college friends, they formed a highly successful company named Vernitron which focused on the development of electronic components and transmitters. In retirement, he continued to stay active in local Woodbridge politics, the VFW, Lion's Club and at the Peabody Museum. He and his wife Frances were long time members of Long Wharf, and of B'nai Jacob in Woodridge. Funeral Services will be held FRIDAY morning May12, at 10:00 o'clock atRobert E. Shure Funeral Home, 543 George Street, New Haven, with interment services to follow in B'nai Jacob Memorial Park,200 Wintergreen Ave., New Haven. A Private Period of Mourning will be observed.
