Garvey, Claire Shea
In Delray Beach, FL March 6, 2018, Claire Shea Garvey 90, of Hamden and Boynton Beach FL, passed away of natural causes. Wife of the late Martin J. Garvey, Jr. Loving mother of Martin J. Garvey, III of Ashland, MA, William F. Garvey and Justin T. Garvey both of Hamden, sister of Eileen Trainer and Beatrice Bremmer both of Boynton Beach, FL and William Shea of Meriden. Also survived by her cherished grandchildren Kelly DePalma, Ian Gatavaski, Martin J. Garvey, IV, Elizabeth Garvey, James Garvey and Marika Garvey. She was predeceased by a daughter Mandy Gatavaski and a sister Marie Conklin. Claire was born in Springfield, MA on May 23, 1927 daughter of the late Charles E. and Beatrice Millmore Shea. Prior to her retirement she was a French Teacher at West Haven High School.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 5 Hillhouse Ave. New Haven. Friends are asked to go directly to church. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hamden.
