Angela Cuviello Obituary

It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the death of the matriarch of the Cuviello family. Angela Maria Cuviello (nee Tomasulo) passed away peacefully with her family by her side and on her own terms on Saturday June 12, 2021 in her 86th year. Angela was born in San Fele, Italy and immigrated to Canada in 1960; where she and her husband Vito raised 3 beautiful children. Angela was a cook at the Capri Restaurant for many years and a longstanding member of Club Italia. Nonna's famous, from scratch lasagna, was both a favourite at the restaurant and a staple at most family gatherings. Angela had many friends that she enjoyed spending time with or talking with right up until her passing. Angela's greatest love was her family, especially the children. She leaves behind her grieving daughter, Mary (Joe) Ippolito; son Joe (Colleen) and son Vince (Lucy) as well as her beautiful grandchildren Cristina (Steve) Sakes, Anthony Ippolito, Michael-Vincent (Kelsey), Tyler (Laura), Zachary (Amber), Fraser (Emily). Nonna will be incredibly missed by her great-grandchildren Audrey, Oliver and Ruby Sakes, Dallas Ross-McPhee and Caiden Cuviello. Angela also leaves behind her brother Sebastiano (Antonietta) and their children Geraldine and Eric in France as well as 3 generations of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews all residing in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Angela is predeceased by her beloved husband Vito (January 18, 2020), her parents Antonio and Rosina Tomasulo and her sister Antonietta Tomasulo, and sisters-in-law, Antonietta, Angela and Nancy.
Angela was an avid walker and was the neighbourhood Nonna to all the kids. She always had time to chat with each and every one of them. Nonna loved baking pizzelle right up until 2 days before her death because she knew the kids loved her "tookies" as Caiden called them. The holiday celebratory meals were always over-the-top delicious as were the left-overs the next day. She was a loud and proud Italian Ma and Nonna who lived for her family and friends. Angela fought her hardest fight over the past few months insisting that she was "fine" as most mothers do. Her drive and determination, and sometimes stubbornness, helped her to live the last chapter of her life with joy and dignity and exactly how she wanted. Angela passed peacefully in her sleep just as she had prayed for. We are confident that Vito was holding her hand guiding her to the end of her physical life. She will live in our hearts forever and the crazy memories that we all shared over the years will bring tears of joy to all of us as we grieve the most loved head of our family. May you rest in peace Ma knowing that you were loved unconditionally by so many and your legacy will live on through your family for decades.
Ti vogliamo bene di cuore. We are sure that the next time we hear thunder it will be you and PA dancing in the clouds. Heaven just got a lot louder!

Dear Cuviello Family,
Just wanted to let you know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers. I know what a close knit family you are and that your Mom, Grandma and Great Grandma was a fine, honest lady whom loved her family and was overwhelmed with all the love she has received over all these years and especially during her illness. She gave much love too. May you find Light, Peace and comfort in knowing she is reunited with her beloved husband and family she has missed along time ago.

Mary, Joe and Family:
In keeping with the Creator’s Master Plan, a beautiful soul has left her earthly home and family. Angela’s devout and unwavering faith nourished and sustained her right to the end. We truly loved her and will cherish all the moments we shared from her signature ELLO upon greeting us to memories of her resting comfortably in the sun on her chaise chair in the backyard. Angela’s divine essence will be with us forever. Good-by dear friend and neighbor.
