October 29, 1964 - February 12, 2021 It is with heavy hearts that we share the sad news that Brenda (age 56) passed away Friday, February 12 at the St. Catharines General Hospital after a short battle with liver and lung cancer. She will be greatly missed by her husband Jeffrey Smith, her cherished daughters Cassidy Smith and Rachel Young, and her three step children Marlon, Andre, and Afeisha. Her greatest joy was time spent with her grandsons Carter, Elijah, and Aidan. Brenda was a loving daughter to Alan and Shirley Worokevich. She is loved and will be missed by her sister Marsha (Steve) Schafer, brother Rob, and Ruth (Andy) Boucock. Brenda will be fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews, Heather and Tara Schafer, Derek, Brad, Chad, and Brenna Boucock. She is predeceased by her grandparents Molly and Frank Worokevich and Jack and Ella Irving, and by numerous aunts and uncles. Brenda is also survived by numerous cousins and many friends. Brenda was born and raised in St. Catharines and went to Memorial School, Queen Mary, and St. Catharines Collegiate. She was strong, honest, generous, kind-hearted, and loved to laugh. Due to Covid restrictions and also per Brenda's wishes there will be no funeral. Cremation to take place with burial in the family plot at Victoria Lawn Cemetery in the spring. Arrangements entrusted to Passfield Mortuary Services. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested a donation to Hospice Niagara on Ontario St. in St. Catharines. Brenda was a classmate, she was always a kind, friendly, sweet girl. We didn't keep in touch personally, but I have a friend who became very close to her and always spoke of their time as friends. Always speaking so fondly of Brenda!
Rest in peace sweet lady, and God bless you.
