Hard working volunteer ! Part time farm worker. Opinionated but civil politically and you never had to guess what He was feeling.
He will be missed by many . . .

A kind giving soul with the best hugs, truly missed. Comforted at the thought of my bro Jeff and Red having beer and playing darts together.

My deepest condolences to Uncle Doug's family.
My heart aches for the loss(es) you and we have endured over the past 2 and a half years.
Red, whom I called Uncle Doug, because of my best friend and (common law) Boyfriend Jason Lorne and his brother (and mine) ,Rod.
Red would smile and chuckle and always give a great hug. When Uncle Doug asked you how you were doing, he sincerely cared.
I met and got to know Red when I became a cook at the Grimsby Tavern. I was 15. He was always keeping an eye out (for anyone) to make sure you were safe and sound.
I'll miss his Sam Elliot voice , his big grin, his sense of humour, and his awesome laugh(!!)
I will think of Red and pass along his community spirit when the opportunity presents itself to me.
Sláinte.
