William Douglas VanOrden Obituary
SUSSEX -- William Douglas Van Orden, age 70, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018, at his residence while surrounded by his loving family. Born in Franklin to the late Richard and Florence (Hunt) Van Orden, Bill had lived in Sussex County all of his life. He had been employed at the former Minisink Rubber in Unionville, N.Y., for over 25 years and retired from Hamburg Quarry, where he was a welder.

Besides his parents, Bill was predeceased by several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary (Repsher); his three daughters, Florence Campbell and her husband, Harry, of Dingmans Ferry, Pa., Mary Southard, of Sussex, and Doris Van Orden and her longtime companion, John Occhipinti, of Lords Valley, Pa.; his brothers, Larry Van Orden, of Sussex, and Jerry Van Orden and Kenny Van Orden, both of Port Jervis, N.Y.; his sisters, Gladys Corby, of Milford, Pa., Betty Van Orden, of Sussex, Edna "Jennie" Ashworth, of Wantage, and Debbie Reiser, of Sparrowbush, N.Y.; eight grandchildren; and 15 great- grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 14, at the Pinkel Funeral Home, 31 Bank St. (Route 23), Sussex. Friends may pay their respects to the family on Sunday, prior to the funeral, from 1-3 p.m. at the funeral home. Private cremation services will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations may be made to the family or to the funeral home to help defray the funeral costs. Online condolences may be offered to the family on www.pinkelfuneralhome.com.
