Joseph Giordano Obituary
Brookneal - Joseph "Joe" Rosario Giordano of Brookneal, VA, age 72, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 3, 2021, after fighting a hard and courageous battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia at Lynchburg Hospital in Lynchburg, VA.
Joe was born on April 6, 1948 in Englewood, New Jersey and moved to Stockholm, NJ when he was a young boy. It was there that Joe met his loving wife, Loretta. They celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary in November. Joe was a long-time resident of Hardyston, NJ where they raised their two daughters, Theresa and Valerie, and one son, Jeremy, before retiring to Brookneal, VA in 2018. Joe received his Masters of Art in Biblical Studies and was a longtime volunteer with the Big Brother program and was a foster parent to many children through the years.
Joe was preceded in death by his son, Jeremy Giordano. Leaving to hold his memory, Joe is survived by his wife Loretta of Brookneal, VA; his daughters Theresa Navarro of Whippany, NJ and Valerie (Scott) Kammerer of Vernon, NJ; and his grandchildren, Gabriella, Alexander, Sophia, and Madison.
The family welcomes donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the American Cancer Society as an expression of sympathy instead of flowers. Arrangements are under the direction of Jeffress Funeral Home, Brookneal, VA. A memorial service will be held in the near future. Times and dates will be announced accordingly.
