OSTENDORF
Margaret Mary "Marge" Ostendorf nee Schrand, 73 of Ft. Wright passed away Tuesday surrounded by her family. Marge along with her husband Butch owned and operated Dick's Standard Service at 5th & Main Streets, Covington. They had recently retired on May 15th. She was a longtime member of St. Agnes Church, Ft. Wright. She was preceded in death by a son, Edward Ostendorf in 1963; her parents, Lawrence and Charlotte Glatting Schrand and two brothers, Dennis and Richard Schrand. Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Richard D. "Butch" Ostendorf of Ft. Wright; daughters, Marie Ostendorf of Ft. Wright, Patty (Brian) Mallory of Independence and Michelle Ostendorf Whaley of Covington; sisters, Maxine (Larry) Richardson of Loveland, Ohio and Mary Agnes (Pat) Sandfoss of Independence; brothers, Lawrence (Mary) Schrand of Ft. Wright and David (Koren) Schrand of Independence; sister in laws, Carolyn (Larry) Annear of Ft. Wright, Jan Schrand of Ft. Mitchell and Helene Schrand of Cincinnati; grandchildren, Caitlyn Bird, Ashton Mallory, Payton Mallory and Madaline Whaley. Visitation 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon, Saturday at St. Agnes Church, 1680 Dixie Hwy., Ft. Wright. Mass of Christian Burial to immediately follow at 12:00 Noon. Interment will be in Mother of God Cemetery, Ft. Wright. Memorial contributions are suggested to: Redwood School & Rehabilitation Center, 71 Orphanage Road, Ft. Mitchell, KY 41017 or the American Cancer Society, 297 Buttermilk Pike, Ft. Mitchell, KY 41017 or Hospice of St. Elizabeth, 1 Medical Village Drive, Edgewood, KY 41017. So sorry to hear of the loss of a dear friend from high school at the Villa. She was sweets, kind and could really jitter bug. My prayers and thoughts are with her extended family during their time of grief.

Spent a lot of time at your house in my teenage years, and always remember how fun and "cool" I thought Marge was!! She was a wonderful person who will be greatly missed! Have always loved Butch and Marge! Have taken our cars to Butch for decades and bought tires from him. Don't know what we're going to do without him, but glad he retired and gets to relax. So very sorry to hear of the loss of Marge. She was always kind and sweet. Sending prayers to Butch!

Marge and Butch are two of the finest and most caring people I have ever met.When I would stop at the station over the years Marge would always greet you with her classic smile and want to know how all your family was doing. She never talked about herself and her wonderful upbeat personality made you feel at home. God bless her and all the family. It was a distinct honor to know her all these years.
