John "Jack" E. Davis

Cincinnati - John "Jack" E. Davis, 84, of Cincinnati, a man of style and grace, climbed his stairway to Heaven on Tuesday, August 28, 2018.

John was born and raised in Richmond, Indiana. Upon graduating from high school, he enlisted and proudly served in the U.S. Army. He then attended and graduated from Ball State University and later Xavier University. John was an accomplished educator. He taught at Bloom Junior High, Woodward, and Withrow High Schools. He was director of the Southwestern Ohio Special Education Regional Resource Center. He was also employed by Butler County MRDD. John served on many state and local boards throughout his career.

Although his passion was education, John loved people and people loved John.

John will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 39 years, Nanci, daughters Juli (Wendell) Bradford, Lisa (Barry) Larkin, Lori (Kevin) Small, son Darrell "Robby"II (Beatrice) Davis, grandchildren Brielle Larkin, Victor Rivera, Shane Larkin, Joshua Davis, Jalen Rivera, Kyler Davis, Cymber Larkin, and Kierra Davis. He leaves behind brothers Paul (Carol) Davis, Don (Janet) Davis, sisters Sharron Olverson, Karryn (Steven) Hummons, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and devoted dogs Ollie and Quincy.

John was preceded in death by parents Edgar and Letha (Goens) Davis and brothers Mike, Tim, Bill, and Darrell Robert Davis.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 22, from 3:00 - 4:30 pm at First United Church of Christ, 5808 Glenview Avenue, Cincinnati 45224, in College Hill. A Celebration of Life will follow from 5:00 - 9:00 pm at Red Rose restaurant at 5915 Hamilton Avenue.

Forever the educator, John has requested that his body be donated to the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.
