MOHR
John W. (Jack) of Cincinnati, residing in Rosemount/Eagan, MN and Okaloosa Island, FL. Preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Joan (Dignan) Mohr. Survived by daughter Jennifer Kistner Gillet, (William) and son Jeffrey Dignan Mohr, Grandchildren Shaun, John, Justin, Tyler, Madison, Kelly and Caitlin, Great Grandchildren Bella, Gracie and Mabel. He went to his Lord and Savior peacefully on Jan. 23, 2017. A member and servant of St. Paul United Church of Christ for 60 years, active in stewardship and president of the council in 1984. He was owner and president of W.R. Dignan Associates, Inc. and founder of Diversified Brokerage Specialist, Inc., insurance brokerage firms. He served in the US Marine Corps (1951-1954) in Korea where he was awarded the Purple Heart. His father, Lee and brothers, Donald and Robert also served as Marines. He was the first of two Marines to guide anti-tank missiles and earned the MOS of Guided Missile Leader while stationed in Quantico, VA. He was a graduate of NE Mississippi Jr. College where he played on both the varsity football and basketball teams. A humble man who showed much love and respect to all he met. He will be dearly missed by all. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 3, 3017 from 5:30 p.m. until time of service 7:00 p.m. at the Spring Grove Funeral Home, 4389 Spring Grove Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45223, 513-853-1035. Private entombment will be held at Spring Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to St. Paul United Church of Christ, North College Hill, OH, Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, Apple Valley, MN, and the Wounded Warrior Regiment, 1998 Hill Ave. Quantico, VA.
