Eric Lorne Townley

1933 - 2016

Eric Lorne Townley, age 83, passed away peacefully in Jeffersontown, Kentucky, on Saturday, December 3, 2016. He was born in Vancouver, British Columbia on January 28, 1933 and was a resident of Slidell from 1965 until he moved to Kentucky in 2015. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps and served in Korea from 1952-53. He was a former employee of Air Products, Stennis Space Center and Southern Comfort Lounge. He will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather with a quick wit and a sharp mind. He was a loyal fan of the LSU Tigers and the New Orleans Saints. He is survived by his three sons, Rick Townley (Nancy Pease) Baton Rouge, LA; Jeffrey Townley (Elizabeth), Jeffersontown, KY and Gregory Townley, Molina, FL; his grandchildren, Grace Ann Townley and Andrew Townley, Jeffersontown, KY, Jared Townley, Molina, FL; daughter-in-law Beth Townley, Molina, FL; dear friend, Ann Martinez, Slidell, LA, and canine companion, Bandit. Services will be held at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 34888 Grantham College Road, (adjacent to Camp Villere), Slidell, LA 70460, on Friday, December 16, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. The family would like to express their appreciation to Hosparus hospice group for their compassionate care and assistance.
