Patrick John "Pat" Donovan Sr. was born July 23, 1954 in Mt. Clemens, MI. Pat grew up in Kenner, Louisiana. He earned an Associate of Science degree from Southeastern Louisiana University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of New Orleans Pat enjoyed writing poetry and watching sunsets along the Gulf Coast. He also had a love for animals and owned many over the years, including cats, a boa constrictor, a St. Bernard dog and a Scarlet Mackaw parrot. Patrick John Donovan Sr. passed away January 19, 2019 in Gulfport, MS at the age of 64. Preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Theresa Donovan; and siblings: Joseph Donovan, Charles Donovan and Jane (Jay) Hoyman. Survived by his son, Patrick J. (Julia) Donovan Jr.; grandchildren: Isabella and Patrick III; and siblings: William Donovan (Beverly), Martin Donovan III (Cristina), Frederick Donovan Sr. (Jerrianne), Terese Aucoin, Mary Ralston (Sid), Lisa Brown (Harold) and Christopher Donovan, as well as numerous nephews and nieces and his friend Laura Murphy. The family would like to thank Canon Hospice and Gulfport Memorial for their excellent care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice in Pat's memory. Final arrangements are pending.
