Alex was my colleague at St Luke's and Englewood suite mate spanning forty years. Alex excelled at everything he tried, from psychiatric teaching and practice to letters to the editor, photography and friendship. To employ an overused phrase he was a Renaissance man, a dear friend and the provider of expert care and mentoring to generations of patients and trainees. We all will miss him.
