Anthony Turano

Anthony J., born April 30, 1921 and resided in Trenton, NJ and thereafter resided in Garfield and Paterson, NJ passed away peacefully May 14, 2013. He was a career instrument technician specialist for New Jersey companies. He served in the US Army Air Force (8th Air Force) during World War ll (1942 - 1945) and engaged in 32 combat bombing missions in Europe. He was a tech sergeant and aerial engineer and gunner and received the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal, 1st, 2nd, 3rd Oak Leaf Clusters Medals, Good Conduct Medal, 2 Bronze Stars, European Service Theater Medal. He was a member of St. Brendan's Church, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars and other organizations. Hus wife, Jean passed away November 5, 2009. He is survived by his son, Richard and his wife Irene, two grandsons Richard Jude and Stephen and daughters-in-law Nadia and Petra and great-granddaughter Taya. He is also survived by his brother Louis and is wife Helen, nieces and nephews Robert, Carol, Gina, Michael, Andith, Denise, Bill, Devon, Sean, Devin, Brice, Holden, JoJo, Pattie and Sharon and other relatives and friends. He was alos predeceased by his father and mother, Raffaelle and Rosaria (Veltri), his brothers Luigi, Michael, Joseph and his sister Rose. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, 9:30 AM, at the Della Torre Funeral Home, 515- 21st Avenue, Paterson. Entombment will follow in the Calvary Masoleum. Visiting hours Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM
