Norman Blagman Obituary
- - Norman Blagman, a 92 year old WWII veteran died on Sept 28, 2018 at the Actors Fund Home, Englewood, NJ.
A songwriter/producer his whole life, Norman loved music. Among his original compositions were the title song for the Earl "Fatha" Hines album Jazz is His Old Lady, the audition song "Love Power" sung by Dick Shawn in the original movie production of "The Producers" and two songs recorded by Elvis Presley.
Norman's many interests continued to be wide ranging throughout his lifetime: he loved sharing his enthusiasm with family and friends, writing music, Thursday night poker games, attending concerts, and sharing ideas about how to "eat healthy" whenever he could.
Norman also studied the Chinese art of Chi gong and became a most beloved instructor of the art to the numerous students attending his classes in several local venues.
Norman is survived by his wife, of 48 years and two sons. His endearing spirit will be dearly missed by them.
A memorial service will be held at the Ethical Culture Society, 687 Larch Avenue, Teaneck on Saturday, Oct. 20, 1-3 pm.
Contributions in his honor may be made to the Southeast Senior Center for Independent Living (SESCIL), 228 Grand Ave, Englewood, NJ 07631.
All Faiths Cremation Service, West New York, NJ is in charge of the arrangements.
