Ardmore, PA - Lorna Velardi, 67, of Ardmore, PA passed away from cancer on June 9, 2021. Beloved mother of Alicia Goff and Leah Goff and sister to Joan Velardi of Bayville, NJ and Carol Velardi Bergemann and spouse Glenn Bergemann of Mahwah, NJ. Also survived by her companion, Gerry Nostrand and her nephews Michael and Peter Bergemann. She is pre-deceased by her parents, Mary and Ignatius (nee Nat) Velardi of Glen Rock, NJ.

She was a graduate of Immaculate Heart Academy of Washington Twp., NJ and earned her BS degree in Chemical Engineering from Lehigh University. She was part of the first class of women to graduate from Lehigh and one of the first 3 women to graduate in Engineering at the University. She also sat on the Board of Trustees at Lehigh for several years.

Lorna was born in Brooklyn, NY and grew up in Ridgewood and Glen Rock, NJ. After working for Kodak in Rochester, NY for a number of years, she moved to Pennsylvania to work for PQ Corporation, Sun Oil and Matlack. She was the founder and CEO of Environmental Strategy Consultants, Inc. in Philadelphia, an environmental engineering company, started in 1986. Her company was one of the first engineering firms in the industry to focus purely on environmental consulting. Lorna recently sold the company to All4, Inc., an environmental engineering company headquartered in Kimberton, PA.

Relatives and friends are invited for a viewing at West Laurel Hill Funeral Home, Inc., 225 Belmont Ave., Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004, on Sunday, June 13th at 10 AM and service at 11 AM, followed by burial in Nature's Sanctuary in West Laurel Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made online to The Penn Medicine Hospice Friends Fund or the Environmental Defense Fund.
