Albert "Bert," 89, of Clifton passed away on March 10, 2013. Born in Clifton, Bert was a lifelong resident. An Air Force veteran of WWII, Bert proudly served with the 454th Bombardment Group of the 15th Air Force and was a recipient of several combat accolades, include 5 Bronze Stars and 2 Air Medals. Bert was a member of the V.F.W. Post 7165, Clifton, and was a past Commander of the American Legion Post 347, Clifton. Bert also served as past President of the Optimist Club International of Clifton and of the Botany Village Merchant's Association, Clifton. Bert was the owner/operator of Disoteo Fuel Co., Clifton, for over 50 years, retiring in 2001, and served as a past vice-president of the Passaic County Fuel Oil Dealers Association. Bert was also an Instructor of Oil Heating Technology for the State of New Jersey for many years. Beloved husband of 27 years of Norma (McKenzie) Disoteo. Devoted father of Gary Disoteo and his wife Josephine of Flemington and Bert Disoteo and his wife Cathy of Clifton. Cherished stepfather of James Houlis of Clifton. Loving grandfather of seven grandchildren. Dear brother of Mario Disoteo and the late Molly Palatini. Beloved uncle of several nieces and nephews. Funeral Service Thursday 10 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. Cremation, East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton. Visiting Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
