Barbara A. Caccavella, 75, of Wayne passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2018.

Visiting will be at Paul Ippolito-Dancy Memorial, 9 Smull Ave., Caldwell, on Wednesday, June 13, 2018, from 4 to 8 p.m. Relatives and friends are asked to go directly to Our Lady of the Valley Church in Wayne for the Funeral Mass on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 10 a.m. Entombment will be at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union, N.J.

Born in Glen Ridge, Ms. Caccavella was raised in North Caldwell and was a resident of Wayne for more than 35 years.

Ms. Caccavella was an alcohol and drug counselor for IDRC of Essex County in Cedar Grove for 25 years before retiring. Prior to that, she worked as a pediatric nurse for Dr. Harold Mancusi-Ungaro in Upper Montclair for 20 years.

Ms. Caccavella earned her degree from the Foundling Home in Montclair at St. Vincent's Hospital in Montclair.

Active in the community, she volunteered at the Children's Institute in Verona and the local chapter of Angels in Aprons. She was well known for cooking delicious Italian food and being the Matriarch of her large Italian family.

Ms. Caccavella was the beloved sister of Rachel Fano, Lenore Wolke and Marilyn Caccavella and Josefina Esguerra, and cherished aunt of Nicholas and Fran, David and Elaine, Michelle and Vance, Michael and Donna, Mark and Christine, Steven and Lynn, Anthony and Jennifer, and Thomas and Maryam, and adored great aunt of 24 nieces and nephews.
