LARSON, Elizabeth A., 80, of Teaneck, born in Douglaston, NY, raised on Staten Island, formerly of Titusville, Florida passed away on August 8, 2018. Beloved wife of 27 years to the late Raoul Larson. Devoted mother of Essie Marie Larson and her husband Chris Fatzer. Step-mother to Ann. Loving "Mormor" of Sophia. Dear sister of the late Ed, Evelyn and Anne. Friend to thousands. Faithful servant to God. Elizabeth entered the convent of the Presentation Sisters on Staten Island at the age of 17 and asked permission to leave at the age of 30 because she had "Answered all of the questions about faith that she entered with". During this time she also graduated from Fordham University and received her Master's from Columbia in education and sculptural arts. She spent her life as an Educator and Artist, having taught at elementary schools in Staten Island, the School for the Deaf in NYC, Columbia Teacher's College and New York University. After meeting Raoul and getting married in 1971 they sailed the Atlantic in a small sailboat eventually settling in Stockholm, Sweden, where she taught art at Stockholm University. After returning to the USA and making a home in Florida she taught at two Individual Educational schools, and established another of her own. After retiring from education she worked as a support person for eight years for RealtyLine Inc., Teaneck. Her passion was always caring for others, especially the underserved, and she made many mission trips around the world. She will be forever loved by all who had the honor of meeting her. Family and friends are welcome to visit on Friday, August 17th from 10am-12pm at St. Anastasia's RCC, Teaneck. Funeral Mass will commence at 12pm. Private cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Peru Mission or St. Anastasia's RCC Ministries. Arrangements are entrusted to Volk Leber Funeral Home, 789 Teaneck Road, Teaneck.
