Frank T. Lyman, 98, of Fairfield, NJ, died on July 4, 2018. Visitation was on Monday, July 9, 2018 at Shook's Cedar Grove Funeral Home, 486 Pompton Avenue, Cedar Grove, NJ, followed by a funeral mass at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Cedar Grove. Interment was at Glendale Cemetery, Bloomfield, NJ. Memories and condolences may be shared at shookscedargrove.com.

Born and raised in Belleville, he married and moved to Montclair. He then was a resident of Cedar Grove since 1960 and recently settled in Fairfield. He honorably served in the US Army in Europe during World War II. Prior to his retirement, he was an electrician at Hoffman-LaRoche in Nutley. He was a longtime parishioner of St, Catherine of Siena Church. In his spare time, he loved to golf and enjoyed vacations up to the Cape. Frank was known for mixing unforgettable whiskey sour cocktails and also for his legendary storytelling abilities.

He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Thelma L. Lyman and brothers, David Lyman, and his wife, Ida, and Stephen Lyman. Surviving are his beloved daughters, Patricia Vickery, and her husband, Jay, and Janet Memmelaar, and her husband, John; loving grandchildren, Jessica Kolis, and her husband, Walter, James Vickery, Olivia Memmelaar, and Ava Memmelaar, and cherished great-grandson, Benjamin Kolis. Frank also leaves behind many friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to one of these veteran charities, 22 Kill or Puppies Behind Bars.
