Tampa, FL - John M. Schultz, 48, of Tampa, Florida, formerly of Allendale, died Friday, September 14, 2018 at Chilton Memorial Hospital in Pompton Plains.

Born in Brooklyn, John was one of five children born to James and Arlyne Schultz. Raised in Allendale, he graduated from Northern Highlands Regional High School and later graduated from Ramapo College. In 2004, John married Lori Holzli and the couple moved to Florida later that year. John had a successful career with multiple assignments as a skilled contractor performing Database Administration functions.

John will always be remembered for being an animal lover and avid fan of the N.Y. Yankees, The Dallas Cowboys, The Detroit Red Wings and The Houston Rockets.

John is lovingly survived by his mother, Arlyne; his wife, Lori Schultz; his siblings, James Schultz and his wife Joyce, Kathy Kosmack, Lorraine Desotle and her husband Bob, and Eileen Porcelli and her fiancé Ronnie Wagoner; his nieces and nephews, Christopher Kosmack, Kevin Kosmack and his wife Nicole, Eric Kosmack and his wife Thea, Kathryn Kosmack, Thomas Schultz, Lauren Dillon and her husband Patrick, Renee Schultz and Alexa Porcelli; his great-nieces and nephews, Ben Kosmack, Mackenzie Kosmack, and Colin Dillon; as well as his cats, Jeter, Ozzie and Romo.

He was predeceased by his father, James, and his brother-in-law, Mark Kosmack.

Visiting hours will be Monday from 5-8 pm at the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, 781 Newark Pompton Tpke., Pompton Plains. A funeral Mass will be held 10 am Tuesday at Our Lady of Good Counsel RC Church, Pompton Plains. Cremation will be private. www.scanlanfuneralhome.com
