Maryann (nee Weisz) Walits

Wayne - Maryann (nee Weisz) Walits, 77, of Wayne passed away suddenly on January 11, 2019.

Born in Fort Worth, TX, Maryann grew up on Lakeview Avenue in Clifton where she attended first St. Brendan's School, then Pope Pius High School, Class of 1959. After graduating from Ridgewood Secretarial School in 1960, she had worked as an Executive Secretary at Curtiss-Wright, formerly in Wood-Ridge. After marrying in 1963, Maryann and Frank then lived briefly in Passaic before moving to Clifton, then Wayne in 1975. While in Clifton, Maryann belonged to the Clifton Junior Women's Club. When she went back to administrative work, she worked over 20 years at Weisek Management in Clifton as an Administrative Assistant and upon retirement from there, was a Property Manager for Weisz Real Properties. She belonged to the North Jersey Regional Tea Party and enjoyed many activities there. She was a faithful parishioner of Our Lady of the Valley RC Church in Wayne.

Maryann was predeceased by her parents, John Weisz, Jr. and Helen (nee Fuchs) Weisz and Veronica Dudash, sister-in-law.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, Frank J. Walits, of Wayne; by her two devoted daughters: Suzanne McConeghy and her husband, Robert, of Boonton and Joanne Danckwerth and her husband, John Jr., of Wayne; cherished granddaughter Jessica Ann Danckwerth; two sisters: Helen Divney and Joyce Faherty; and nieces, Diane Dudash-Dykes, Barbra Ackershoek and nephew, John Faherty.

Visiting will be Wednesday from 4-8pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. Funeral will be Thursday 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Valley RC Church, 630 Valley Road, Wayne. Please meet at church. Entombment to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Paterson.
