He graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in 1971, joined the National Guard in 1972, honorably discharged in 1977. He raised his family in the Hillcrest Section, his home until his death. Mike believed in the value of hard work, the importance of earned respect and loyalty, the reverence of family above all. He loved music, fishing, the Yankees, and laughing.
