Borrelli, Salvatore, passed away peacefully at his home on August 3, 2018, three months shy of his 102 birthday. Born in Paterson, New Jersey on October 10, 1916 to Gabriele and Angelina (nee Rizzo) Borrelli. Sal was the oldest of four children, all of whom predeceased him - his brothers Joseph and Pasquale Borrelli and his sister Ann Scavone-Borrelli.

Sal served with the Army in England during World War II with the rank of Sargent. He married Rose Moscariello on November 16, 1941. They had one son, Salvatore L Borrelli, an attorney in Passaic County, married to Laura (nee Sikkema). Sal and Rose have resided in Wayne since 1957. Sal was a real estate and insurance broker and a residential real estate appraiser with Gabriele Borrelli and Sons, located in Paterson, New Jersey for over 70 years. Sal co-founded the Passaic County Board of Realtors and Passaic County Multiple Listing System holding many offices, including President in 1960 and 1961. During the 65 years Sal was an active member, he served on the Board of Directors, was elected President and in 1958, Sal was named Realtor of the Year. In 1956, Sal co-founded the WAYNE PAL, serving as its first and only treasurer for more than 49 years, receiving the National PAL Distinguished Service Award in 1976. On October 9, 2010, Sal was honored with Special Congressional Recognition by the United States House of Representatives for his outstanding and selfless service to the community.

In addition to professional organizations and the Wayne PAL, Sal joined and served many volunteer organizations throughout his life time. Sal was also an avid fly fisherman. In 1987 Sal earned a World Record from the International Fish Association and still holds that World Record.

The Family will receive visitors at the Church beginning at 10:15 AM on Friday, August 10, 2018 followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Constellation Church, 1799 Hamburg Turnpike, Wayne at 11:00 am.
