Virginia Colaneri

New Milford - Virginia Colaneri (nee Tuccio) passed away peacefully at home on September 15, 2018 at the age of 95 surrounded by her daughter Georgette and husband Robert. Born and raised in Jersey City, she graduated from Dickenson High School where she met the love of her life, George Colaneri (1989), at age 16. They married in 1944 and shared a glorious 45 year marriage. In 1951 they moved to New Milford where Virginia lived for 65 wonderful years. After being the consummate homemaker for half her life, she returned to work for ten years at Medical Economics, Circulation Dept., Oradell, as a memorable employee to all that knew her. Virginia is predeceased by her beloved husband George (1989), brothers Frank, Nicholas and James Tuccio, sisters Mae Soriero, Rose Daquino, Catherine Melnyk, Anne Tuccio, and survived by her loving sister Margaret Rossi. "Aunt Virginia" enjoyed sewing, cooking and elegantly entertaining family and friends. Her door was always open and her heart was there for all who needed her prayers and understanding. She was respected and adored by all her nieces and nephews, great nieces, nephews and lifetime friends. Her love for the family and friends was unconditional and always offered her rosary for their peace and good health. She made endless memories for all the lives she touched. We will miss you mom and "Aunt Virginia". Family and friends may visit on Monday 3-7pm at Volk Leber Funeral Home, 268 Kinderkamack Rd., Oradell. Funeral service will be on Tuesday 9am at the funeral home followed by a 10am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph's RCC, Oradell. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
