William Duvier

Charlotte, NC - William Duvier , age 91, of Charlotte, NC, passed away suddenly September 2, 2018. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, after which he played professional basketball for the Nashville Vols. After completing college at Montclair State University he taught physical education for Saddle Brook School System and coached varsity basketball from the late 60's through the 70's. Bill's teams were very successful and won many titles. Bill was presented with the coach of the year award during this period. Bill loved to play semi-pro basketball, softball, and golf. He is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years Janice Duvier; parents, Henry and Alma Duvier; brother, Henry and Raymond Duvier.

Bill is survived by his sister, Caroline Fleischmann; brothers, Walter and Robert Duvier and 12 nephews and nieces. Family is in the care of Heritage Funeral Home, Indian Trail Chapel. Online condolences can be made at www.heritagecares.com.
