Wyonnie Kennedy was born February 17, 1940 in Pine Apple, Alabama. She was the daughter of the late Ervin and Bertha (Freeman) Watson.

She attended the Moore Academy School in Pine Apple, Alabama.

She confessed Christ at an early age and united with the St. Francis Baptist Church in Pine Apple.

Wyonnie was united in marriage to the late Walter Lee Kennedy. They later relocated to Paterson, New Jersey and remain together for 57 years. To this union, one child was born, Dwayne Lee Kennedy. Wyonnie also had two older step-children, Valerie Hilliard (Anson) and Charles Bufford.

After moving to New Jersey, she became a member of the Thankful Baptist Church in Paterson, NJ.

Wyonnie was employed by St. Joseph's Hospital Regional Medical Center as a Nurse's Aide, for 22 years.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Zeke Watson (Mary) and Alphonso Watson; brothers-in law, Elbert Spencer, Jodie Bell Kennedy and Bennie Clay.

After battling a long illness, Wyonnie peacefully entered eternal rest on Wednesday, July 4, 2018. She leaves to cherish her memories, her loving son, Dwayne Kennedy; daughter-in-law, Treneshia Godfrey; one goddaughter, Cassandra D. Kennedy; one brother, Hilbert Watson (Mary); sisters, Shirley Spencer, Mable Nesnite-Smith (Webster), Gertha Seary (Tony) and Elnora Watson; sisters-in-law, Clara M. Clay, Cleola Kennedy, Zola Mae Watson and Mannie Kennedy and brother-in-law, Rufus Kennedy (Alberta). She is also survived by a devoted nephew, Melvin Clay, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. A special thank you to Beatrice Johnson, all other caregivers and the Protective Care Transportation Company.
