WAYNE - Ronald Claude Farissier, 69, of Hamburg, died Feb. 1, 2014.

Born on Aug. 31, 1944 in Paterson, NJ, he was the son of the late Claude and Camille Farissier. He graduated from Central High School in 1964 and joined the U.S. Army in 1965 where he served a tour in Vietnam. He was discharged in 1967. On June 21, 1969, he married Jane Ann Edwards. He worked for over 25 years for the Passaic Valley Water Commission in the engineering department before his retirement. He and his wife and son lived for over 25 years in Wayne before moving to Hamburg.

He was a 42 year member of Ivanhoe Lodge #88, now Genesis Lodge #88 F & AM where he served as Worshipful Master in 1967. He was also a 40 year member of Jephtha Chapter #134 Order of the Eastern Star of NJ where he served as Worthy Patron 21 times. He was a dual member of Blair Chapter #179, OES and Mountain View Chapter #205 where he served three more times as Worthy Patron, once in Blair Chapter and twice in Mountain View. He also served as Worthy Grand Sentinel, OES of NJ in 1991-1992 and as Grand Representative of No. Dakota from 2010-2012. He also served as state chairman for the Make-A-Wish Foundation for OES of NJ in 1996-1997.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Jane Ann Edwards Farissier; son Thomas Ronald Farissier and wife Joyce of Hamburg; niece; a great-niece; and a great-nephew.
