Wilma Bland-Pruden Obituary

Wilma Jean, age 64, of Teaneck, formerly of Red Bank, NJ died Wednesday, July 2, 2014. Beloved wife of Dr. James N. Pruden. Devoted mother of James N. Pruden, Jr. and his wife Yvette, Dr. Carla Pruden and her husband Robert Wilson, III, William Pruden, and Christopher Pruden and caregiver for Nike. Loving grandmother of Damien, Donovan, and Kiara. Wilma was predeceased by her sister Doris Daniels and is survived by her sisters Katherine Wilson-Byers, and Ayesha Sumchai. Besides her devotion to her family, Wilma was dedicated to St. Mark's Episcopal church serving in positions including Treasurer, Warden, and Vestry person. Wilma was pleased to give generously of her time. Her commitment to education was evident in her active involvement with the Teaneck public school system. Wilma was also active in Deutsches Haus at NYU, an institution of culture and language for the German-speaking world. Family and friends are invited to visit Saturday and Sunday 3-5 PM and 7-9 PM at the Volk Leber Funeral Home 789 Teaneck Rd., Teaneck. A funeral service celebrating Wilma's life will be held on Monday at 11 AM at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Teaneck.
