Charles SCALIA Obituary
Charles, 87, of Upper Saddle River, formerly of Hackensack and Garfield, entered eternal peace on Monday, September 29, 2014. "Charlie the Jeweler" was the co-founder of Charles Jewelers loved by all and will be fondly remembered for his warm personality and wonderful sense of humor. He was a past president and long time member of Hackensack Rotary Club, as well as a member of the Knights of Columbus, Trinity Council # 747. Beloved husband of 64 years to Loretta (nee Monaco). Devoted father of Donna and her partner Ralph Russomano, Charles, Jr., and Janice Scalia-Booz and her husband Richard Booz. Cherished grandfather of Alex Cardillo and his fiancé Josephine Panzarella, Stephanie Cardillo, Jonathan Scalia, and Lindsey Scalia. The Funeral on Friday, October 3, 2014 at 10 AM at the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack, NJ 07601. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 AM at Holy Trinity R.C. Church, 34 Maple Ave, Hackensack. Entombment will follow at Garden of Memories, Washington Township. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4-8 PM for visitation. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Tomorrow Children's Fund, 30 Prospect Avenue, Hackensack, NJ 07601. Charlie was an amazing man and very special to me. Growing up, he was like a second father. Thoughts of him only bring smiles, chuckles and great memories. I can see his warm and smiling face as I write this. I am grateful to have had him in my life. Heaven has another angel. Rest in peace Charlie.
